Job Summary:Terra Technologies LLC is a rapidly expanding company seeking a Construction Manager in the Lino Lakes, MN area. Terra Technologies is unique in that fact that it blends civil engineering with telecommunication engineering to provide design support for roadway projects impacting facilities of some of the largest Telecommunication companies in the nation.

The Construction Manager is the company’s representative during construction spending over 80% of their time in the field. They are the primary contact for subcontractors as work is being awarded and constructed. This position verifies subcontractor progress while maintain critical path elements of the project’s schedule, represents the company’s client during site visits by project inspectors, and generally makes sure the conduct of the work meets the company’s high standards. They will be the liaison between engineering, road contractors, and the jurisdiction for field changes and issues that arise during construction while concurrently managing multiple projects.Come join our team and enjoy a fulfilling career in the civil engineering and telecommunication field, coordinating utility conflicts on roadway projects while working with Departments of Transportation, municipalities, counties, and other project sponsors to avoid relocating existing utilities by utilizing innovative conflict mitigation and alternative design techniques.Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Act as the company’s representative in the field by coordinating communication between stakeholders, maintaining schedule, ensuring quality requirements, and making sure all objectives are met.
  • Track projects throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and attend construction meetings between the Subcontractor, the road contractor, and jurisdictions.
  • Review the Subcontractor’s plan and schedule to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Ensure the Subcontractor is meeting permit and contract requirements as well as maintaining a clean jobsite.
  • Manage the client’s needs and concerns through on/offsite meetings.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide project status reporting for leadership and customer.
  • Document all process changes or enhancements and maintain current operational reporting.
  • Reconcile funding requisitions.
  • Balance customer and internal initiatives and priorities.
  • Other responsibilities as may be required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:General
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience Outside Plant (OSP) field engineering or field inspection and/or equivalent college degree in construction management.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to accommodate travel in personal vehicle.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and prints.
  • Ability to read and understand construction staking.
  • Ability to work with a team at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to build professional working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to be flexible, take direction with ease, including changes to schedule and workflow priorities.
  • Proven organization, management, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior time management skills and multi-tasking skills.
  • Deadline driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy.
  • Excels at operating in a fast paced, community environment.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess situations and provide solutions to problems while meeting project objectives.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and similar computer programs.

Travel:
  • Daily travel to job site(s) in personal vehicles.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, stoop, squat, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time and/or long distances.
  • Ability to navigate through potential uneven walkways/terrain.
  • Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces.
  • Able and willing to work in inclement weather conditions and tolerant to extreme elements (heat, sun, wind, rain, snow, etc.).
  • Good vision and depth perception (corrective lenses OK).
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
